Prescriptions

I have a strong prescription - Can you fill it?

Heck yes, we can! We offer the latest technology to produce the thinnest possible, most cosmetically appealing quality lenses for all prescriptions.

How long is my prescription good for?

That will depend on your doctor, but the standard for most states is one year.

Do you keep my prescription on file?

Yes, we keep your prescription on file whether you visited a doctor on our premises or elsewhere.

How do I get a copy of my prescription?

Easy! Call the doctor where you had your last exam. The office should be able to email, fax or mail it to you. If you had your exam at a SEE store, we will be happy to dispense your valid prescription to you.

How do I get my eyes checked?

Most SEE locations have a Doctor of Optometry on site to provide comprehensive eye exams, so you can schedule an exam at your local SEE and pick out a new pair of specs all in the same day!

How do I submit my eyeglass prescription?

You can bring a copy with you or have your eye doctor fax it over. As long as it’s valid, we’ll take it. If shopping online, you'll be prompted to upload your prescription during the optical frame selection process.

Can I use my contact lens prescription to order glasses?

No. Your contact lens prescription and your eyeglass prescription are two different prescriptions. Glasses prescriptions can sometimes be more comprehensive for your vision, so your glasses will need to be made to your glasses prescription specifications. Book an eye exam for eyeglasses here.

Can you get the prescription off of my current pair of glasses?

No. We will need a written copy of your valid prescription from your eye doctor.

What is Pupillary Distance (PD)?

Your PD is the distance between your pupils. It is measured in millimeters and is essential in aligning your prescription with your eyes to give you the crispest, clearest vision. Most PDs fall somewhere between 52-68 with the average being 61 for women and 63 for men.

How do I measure my PD?

The easiest way to obtain your PD is to call the store where you last purchased glasses - they should have your PD on file.
If you'd like to measure your own PD, you can find a "How To" video at the bottom of this page: FRAME FIT GUIDE

Can I pay using my Flex Spending Card (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) card?

Yes! You can use your FSA/HSA card on any optical frame order (anything but non-prescription sunglasses) as long as it is associated with a major credit card.

Do I pay taxes on my glasses?

That depends on individual state tax laws, as some states require sales tax on eyewear.
You may see a small refund after placing an Rx order. This means your state does not charge sales tax on Prescription Eyewear and that money is refunded to you.
